Produced by The Yellowstone Association is Yellowstone National Park’s nonprofit education partner.

Because America’s first national park is so vast and filled with such a variety of ecological wonders, the question The Yellowstone Association hears most often at the visitor centers in Yellowstone National Park is:

“What should I do if I only have one day in Yellowstone?”

They compiled this collection of itineraries to help you plan a perfect day in the park.

They gathered the advice of local area experts and park employees to create three classic, sightseeing day trips. Each one contains suggested routes and stops so you see the best of what Yellowstone has to offer in a limited time frame. To get the most out of your trip, we suggest that if you have one day to spend in the park, do Day 1; two days, do Day 1 and Day 2; three days, do Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3.

For those with more than three days in the park, or who would like to spend a day focused on a specific aspect of the park, we created six itineraries based on your interests. Also, designed by our panel of expert contributors, these trips are great as either stand-alone excursions or supplemental outings to the day trips.
