The green metropolis with the city region of Aachen and the districts of Düren and Heinsberg offers you exciting opportunities for discovery and contrasts in a small area. Industrial landscapes, extensive heathland and river valleys with romantic meadows are just waiting to be explored. Like the DNA of the region, the 450 km long long-distance cycle path "Green Route", awarded 3*** stars by the ADFC in 2012, connects the landscape and its sights, even across borders.

Another highlight is the 170-kilometer-long RurUfer cycle path, which was redesigned in 2021 and is close to nature. Various loops, impressive sights, unique nature and the eventful history of a landscape in transition ensure a lot of variety on your tour on the RurUfer cycle path through the High Fens, the Eifel National Park adventure region, the Jülicher Börde, the Heinsberger Land and the Dutch estuary near Roermond. The regions along the RurUfer Cycle Path have been subject to constant change over the centuries. At the rest and adventure stations along the route, 19 different contemporary witnesses provide information about their own history. A really worth seeing and hearing experience.

But the green metropolis also has many exciting tour tips to offer apart from the two top tours, which the user can discover in the app.
The app is aimed at day and multi-day guests as well as the residents of the green metropolis.

A highlight of the app are the tour suggestions for hikers, cyclists, horse riders and cross-country skiers, which are described in detail with details of length, altitude, duration and degree of difficulty, pictures and a textual explanation and are displayed on a zoomable, topographical map. Thanks to GPS tracking, you can also orientate yourself at any time and check whether you are still on the right path or where the next stop or the next interesting destination is located. All tours and the map can also be easily saved offline, so that a mobile network is not necessarily required on the tour!

In addition to the function as a bike and hike planner, the app also contains the most interesting excursion destinations in the Aachen-Düren-Heinsberg region, such as sights, viewpoints, rest areas, museums, castles, thermal baths, tourist information, bathing lakes, swimming pools, cinemas, accommodation and much more more deposited. These categories are successively supplemented by further topics, so that the app is a helpful companion when planning all leisure-oriented excursions.
