A stitch embroidery technique is executed in a certain way, to form a figure or a pattern on the fabric. This article throws light on the different styles and types of embroidery stitches.
A stitch is defined as the periodic movements of the sewing needle back of the fabric to the front side and then back again. Stroke threads formed on the front side of the fabric is also known as the stitches. embroidery patterns formed by practicing a lot of embroidery stitches in the same style or different, following the counting chart on paper or even by freehand work.
There are two ways to do embroidery stitches efficiently and cleanly: method of hand-sewing and working piercing or maggam. In the method of hand-sewing needles are inserted into the fabric, brought to the surface of the fabric, and the thread is pulled through. This can be done using the embroidery frame or free-hand. frame makes work simpler and helps in inserting the needle without stretching the fabric too much. Piercing method is more common in India and is also known as a job 'Aari'. It's like a chain stitch in which a needle is inserted into the fabric at a 90 degree angle, and then the thread is pulled through. It can also be done using a frame or hoop.
Type in Embroidery Stitches
Using a variety of embroidery stitches. Each has a specific name to help identify it. All of them are generally simple to execute; However, when combined together, the result can be a unique and complex.
straight seam
seam straight through the fabric in a simple up and down motion, in which needles were taken through the fabric at one end and come back from the wrong side at the end of the jab. yarn must be drawn with caution so it does not have to constrict or distort the work. satin simple, eye Algeria, ferns, walking, or blasting stitch are some popular types of straight stitch.
Chain stitch
Chain stitch is the easiest of all the stitches circular, in which needles were taken through the fabric at one end of the seam and put it back into the fabric at the same point. Then, once again the needle is brought back at the end pole of sewing. To complete and secure the line, the needle was taken to the wrong side of the top of the loop where it comes through. Lazy daisy, Spanish chain, or zig-zag chains are some examples of chain stitch.
Cross stitch
Stitching is done by forming a diagonal seam line in one direction using a wrap and weft of the fabric and while back across the diagonal in the opposite direction, forming the 'x'. Breton, Sprat's head, and herringbone stitch are several types.
back stitch
Back stitch is commonly used to compile the design area. It works along one side of the square or diagonal on the square in a circling motion. This usually works on and with a fine thread. Stem, split, and crewel stitch are some examples of her.
These are just a few of the many types of embroidery stitches. They are used to sew the base or decorative purposes. With a little change the style stitching, a completely different look can be achieved.
