FM Sierra was born out of the need to have a means of communication in our town of Sierra de los Padres. We are located, both studio and transmission plant, in the Cittadina building located at Circuito San Martin 1296 in the Ciudad Jardín neighborhood and we have a license granted by ENACOM to function as such. We believe that we have enormous potential as a locality and our existence as a medium wants to collaborate with being able to make our place a place with better communication conditions. Our objective of communicating, entertaining and generating a sense of belonging are the fundamental axes of the radio horizon. The slogan we have “united under the same frequency” says a lot of this; to be able to link all the mountain neighborhoods.

We are convinced that one of the tools that a community has to integrate, inform and interact are the media. These can work positively or negatively, since we are in a new era where hyperconnectivity gave good and bad possibilities to society, where access to information was distorted; one due to the commercial and/or political interests of the media and another due to the large circulation of fake news that ends up being taken as truth.

We understand that objectivity does not exist as such, since from the moment a person exercises their opinion, that point of view is conditioned to their own interpretation of reality and therefore becomes subjective. But from FM Sierra what we do propose is journalistic neutrality; That is, all voices can be heard and all topics that the community believes are important can be talked about beyond the personal vision of each journalist or communicator. Therefore, a medium cannot be pigeonholed into an ideology and be for or against a sector because it loses its essence of neutrality and becomes more of an indoctrinator than a trainer of free opinion.
