The official Roman calendar is a solar calendar that was adopted by the Ottoman Empire, and many documents from that era recorded the date based on the Epoc of the Hijrah of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.

Like the rest of the solar calendars, the method of compiling and organizing them was changed. In the year 1332 AH / Rum, corresponding to 1917 AD / AH, its system was changed from using the structure of the Julian calendar, starting with the month of March, to using the Gregorian system with the month of January. This transition occurred on February 15, 1332 AH/Rom 1, and people woke up on March 1, 1333 AH/Rom 2.

This calendar and this App will convert between the old and new calendar automatically, and the machine is considered suitable for researchers of Ottoman documents. Please keep in mind that the policy of the App is to mention the date followed by the type of calendar. This is no different here, as today’s date in this calendar is written with the symbol “RUM,” and the symbol may appear with the number 1 or 2 to indicate the new or old system. If the number is deleted, this indicates that he is the official and approved notary.

The App also includes other calendars to help researchers as it pertains to the areas where Hijri Calendars were used, the App is supported with Umm Alqura Calendar, as well as Ojari Hijri Tabular Calendar. The Criterion of the moon based on the city of the user is also supported based on Umm Alqura Criterion Q3. The App also includes a Gregorian and a Julian Calendar.

The App has Arabic and English interfaces.
