The 'Wood goes Europe' project is an initative of the Austrian Forestry Association and was created as part of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl 2024. The app shows why forests play an important role in all our lives, in the spirit of 'Forest - We all live from it'. Climate change, food, the air we breathe - the forest is everywhere and without the forest our lives would not be possible in the way we are used to.
What can you find in the app?
Four appealing characters
Lena, Tim, Julia and Mr. Bauer are just waiting to show you their view of the forest. They argue from an ecological, social, economic and protective perspective why the forest is important to us.
Exciting, interactive 3D models
Detailed 3D models create an immersive forest world. They show the aspects of the forest, even those that are otherwise invisible to the eye. For example what is happening in the soil or how circularity in the forest works. The models can be placed in the room using the AR function. You can bring your own personal visualization to the table!
The forest hotspots in the Salzkammergut
The points that emphasize the role of the forest in the Salzkammergut are located on a map. Whether historically significant for salt production or a cultural attraction, there are plenty of forest hotspots to discover.
