Geeni Smart Wi-fi Camera Guide - The Look 1080p Smart Wi-Fi Security Camera joins the Geeni family of smart home devices that also includes select smart light bulbs and smart plugs. This small, flexible security camera delivered 1080p video in our tests and was quick to install, but the audio quality leaves something to be desired. It doesn't offer nearly as many features as our dominant Editors' Choice for affordable home security cameras, even the less expensive Wyze Cam Pan.

The Geeni Look's matte black, puck-shaped camera housing measures 2 inches wide, 1.2 inches thick, and sits atop a slim stem with a 2 inch circular base. The rubber stem can be bent 90 degrees in either direction to provide the best viewing angle, but if you bend it, be sure to use the included round adhesive pad to attach the base to the surface you're mounting it on, or the camera will tilt through. When standing upright, the camera is 4.4 inches high.

The Look captures video in 1080p and has a 120-degree field of view. It uses an infrared LED to provide black and white night vision video, and has a two-way microphone and speaker. The camera is equipped with an 802.11n radio for connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and has motion and sound sensors. A micro USB port in the base is used to power the camera with the included power adapter and 39-inch cable, and there's a reset button on the back. The theme will save motion-triggered video and audio to your phone, and if you install a microSD card (not included) in the slot on the right side of the camera, it will continuously record video that you can watch using the app's timeline.

The camera uses the same mobile app as other Geeni devices, such as the Lux lamp and Spot plug. It opens to a home screen showing local weather conditions and tabs for any active scenes (scenes allow you to control multiple devices with a single tap). Below are tabs for each installed Geeni device. Click the Look camera tab to open a live broadcast that can be viewed in full screen by turning your phone sideways. Here, you'll find buttons for two-way audio, manual video recording, taking a snapshot, and playing recorded video. There is also an alarm button that takes you to the motion detection settings screen where you can enable/disable motion detection and set motion sensitivity. Click on the three dots in the right corner

Supreme to enable sound detection and set sound sensitivity levels, format the SD card, update firmware, and check Wi-Fi signal strength.

The Smart Scenes button at the bottom of my home screen takes you to a page where you can create scenes and automations. Automation allows the camera to react to things like temperature, humidity, and times of sunrise and sunset. You can also have it interact with other Geeni devices, but those integrations are limited. You can toggle the Geeni Spot jack on or off when enabling or disabling the camera's sound or motion settings, but it won't interact with sound or motion triggers, which would make more sense. The Notification Center button displays thumbnails of triggered events, and the Profile button takes you to a screen where you can manage your account information.
