The Traduttore Corsu application translates texts from French into Corsican. Respectful of the polynomic character of the Corsican language, the translation is carried out in one of the three main variants of the Corsican language: cismuntincu, sartinesu, taravesu.

The performance of the Traduttore corsu application is regularly evaluated using a test which consists of the translation of a pseudo-random text. This test concerns the translation of the first 100 words of the “labelled article of the day” from the Wikipedia encyclopedia into French. Currently, the software scores an average of 94% on this test.

Unlike automatic translation software based on statistics or translation corpora, Traduttore corsu is based 80% on the application of rules (grammatical type, disambiguation, elision, euphony, etc.) and 20% on a statistical method. This choice corresponds to several motivations:
▪ there is currently no developed French-Corsican corpus
▪ such a choice allows better control of the artificial intelligence implemented and traceability of the translation

A number of options are available:
- increase or decrease the size of the characters displayed in the text to translate and translated text boxes
- paste text into the text box to translate
- clear the text box to be translated
- change the language of the application interface: Corsican (in one of the three variants cismuntincu, sartinesu or taravesu), English, French, Italian
- choose between the separate writing mode (for example "manghjà lu") or grouped (for example "manghjallu") of Corsican

The free version allows you to translate texts of limited length. The professional version allows the translation of texts without length limitations.
