The Community Radio Portomar Association founded in May 8, 1999, he began his radio broadcasting community work, interrupted then by ANATEL. Because of the improvements that were being held in the community and with the support of local authorities was obtained an injunction in the local justice, which gave the right to return to work. After a period of operation, arrived from surprise anatel agent with an office annulling the injunction along with a team of federal police, with search warrant and seizure of equipment. Since then began the process of struggle for operating grants, since through the ministry of Communications had already been admitted based on Law 9,612 / 98, the same year of its foundation.
 After a long process of processing of the application with the Ministry of Communications in Brasilia, it was finally resolved to radio Association Community Portomar, the provisional operating license on 29 July 2008.
 Started broadcasting on a trial basis in August 2, 2008, went live to 98.5 FM Community Radio Portomar that on October 12 this year, in celebration of this great achievement accomplished with the support of the community and local businesses to party children, allowing the latter to be the date of inauguration of Radio.
Received the definitive grant of authorization for irradiation of broadcasting signal in Porto de Galinhas, through resolution of the National Congress of the Federative Republic of Brazil on 15 September 2009. Since then, it was concerned to contribute to local development.
Because it is a community radio station, the same is not intended to profit, which guarantees its listeners more information, culture and recreation in a reputable manner, without financial interests, political or any other type of discrimination.
The alternative communication work as an instrument of struggle and defense of the rights and duties of citizenship in the promotion and enhancement of local culture and preservation of the environment, developed by the Community Radio FM Portomar, has achieved a major highlight next to the society through various activities performed in the most important tourist region in the ipojucano coast and the state of Pernambuco.
The station is always present, participating and making coverage in all major socio-cultural movements of chickens harbor and all the coast, besides being present in the actions of other municipal entities, Radio Portomar, promotes a series of support activities will citizenship and appreciation of local culture.
Our program schedule is geared to information, citizenship campaign, health in the air, the rights of children and adolescents seeking solutions with varying themes, to promote artistic and cultural activities, cover and disseminate facts and local events, interviews, public service , educational campaigns, dances, songs etc.
 With the support of local community institutions exercise ethics, we promote solidarity and struggle for peace.
The identification of the audience with that schedule was almost immediate, through the interaction and participation of listeners in the programs, events, campaigns and promotions Radio that are constant and intense.
