Anchor is an app that is designed specifically for neurodivergent people to help soothe and calm the person before things become too much (sensory overload etc.).

The app uses songs that have been intricately designed to be as unstressful as possible. They were specially mixed to have very little harsh/resonant frequencies, lots of reverb and lots of consistency with the hope that the songs can create a calm and safe environment for the person listening.

Often, songs that you hear in the charts or on the radio have lots of instrument occurring at the same time, and the songs are ever evolving and the dynamics of the song and very wide, which can create an uneasy feeling for someone who is neurodivergent, as there is very little consistency, there are too many instruments and too many harsh frequencies.

Anchor was specifically designed to be repetitive, have lots of soft sounds, and try not have any instruments that would stick out and cause someone to start feeling uneasy.

The app features 15 songs, with 5 songs per level. Each level increases the amount of complexity within. For example:

'Level 1' songs will feature very few instruments, very little change, and these are the core of the app as they're there to be an 'Anchor' for you.
'Level 2' songs are a middle ground, they feature similar repetitive patterns, with slightly more instrumentation, and variation, but still generally keeping to a nice and consistent arrangement.
'Level 3' songs were designed with more of an intention to be more of a relaxing song to listen to before things become too much. They still feature soft sounds, with very little harsh frequencies, and lots of reverb, but, there are more variation in these songs, they aren't recommended as much for when someone is feeling very overwhelmed, more as a calming song to listen to before an escalated state.

Every song has an aim to be approximately 10 minutes, and you can repeat the song as many times as you would like.

The app UI has been specifically created to help nurture a calming environment, therefore:

- There are no bright/harsh colours
- There is as little clutter as possible
- There are no ADS
