Step By Step Guide To Play asa Pilot App using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. The Pilot App accompanies augmented_space_agency's application for the EASA 2015 workshop in Valletta, Malta.

It is designed to be used with a phone or tablet with a back-facing camera and an image target customised specifically for the EASA 2015 Workshop.

In augmented mode, in the /links/ or /team/ scenes, the application recognizes the workshop poster and displays an augmented layer on top of it. We have provided the image target in the application screens for quick reference and testing.

* Links mode displays a series of platonic solids and uses two augmented buttons for navigation which can be pressed either virtually, on the screen, or in augmented mode, on the image target itself.
* Team mode with a presentation of the four astronauts (they can be interacted with virtually) currently part of the augmented_space_agency team.
* A screenshot button in both AR modes which saves augmented reality photos at the screen resolution. The screenshots are saved in the asaPilot folder (that is why the app needs external read/write permissions)

* Disabled vertical orientation for Image Target - It was too unreliable on phones without a Gyroscope. From now on keep the Image Target horizontal to have the space suits on their feet.
