Founded in 2014 by Dr. Edson Rodrigues, the Foundation joined GAARI people willing to help abandoned animals of Itaquaquecetuba and has been working on awareness, rescue, care and the search for a new home. This is the ideal of the Support Group to Itaquaquecetuba Street animals (GAARI) on behalf of pets suffering abuse or who are abandoned by the Itaquaquecetuba city streets.

Because it is a non-profit organization, the organization relies on the support of the community and partners who can contribute to this work through food donations, medicines or who simply are interested in the welfare of dogs and cats who need affection and care of a new family.

The GAARI was created through a dream of Dr Edson and a group of friends, in order to encourage respect for animals, publicize the laws that protect all the animals as well as their willingness to cooperate with the government in creating policies public to defend animal cause, in addition to promoting educational campaigns and enforcement of the law control the animal population of the city.
