The SAFE.YOUth application was created with the aim of informing children and young people, to protect them from various forms of abuse, violence and delinquency and to provide them with a toolbox with modern and easy-to-use communication options with the Greek Police.

It is also addressed to adults, parents and guardians or professionals who come into contact with minors, seeking to inform them about important issues concerning the safety of children and young people and ways to protect them.
Access to the application is done by selecting the age group to which the user belongs. There are three age groups (12-14, 15-18 and 18+) and depending on the user's choice, personalized informational material is presented.

The informational material covers various topics related to the development of a lifestyle with safe choices in daily life, activities and relationships, but also the risks involved in the manifestation of violent and dangerous delinquent behaviours. Also included are instructions on how to protect children and young people and information on Police Services that can provide information and protection.

The aim is to make children and young people aware of the importance of making safe and smart choices and to know the ways in which they can seek help to stay safe.

In the application there is a "My Police" section, which includes all the communication tools that minors have at their disposal to request information and instructions about a problem they are facing and immediate help.

In particular, minors can contact the "10201" telephone line through the application, which operates in the Sub-Directorate for the Protection of Minors. Specialist police officers at the call center take calls on juvenile protection issues and youth delinquency incidents and provide information and further management.
They can also choose to submit an anonymous or named report on any issue related to abuse, neglect or delinquency of minors, through a special platform that has been created in the gov.gr environment.

For cases of danger or emergency that require immediate police assistance, the possibility of direct connection to the telephone number "100" of the Direct Action Directorate is provided.
The application also includes the "EMERGENCY BUTTON" tool, which makes it possible to immediately inform the Immediate Action for an urgent and dangerous incident, when the minor user cannot speak. The "EMERGENCY BUTTON" function is available on all screens of the application and requires filling in information in a pre-registration form. The information that is pre-filled and the link to the location where the minor user is at the time he/she decides to use the function is sent to the Direct Action Directorate for assistance. It is an alternative, direct, seamless and "implicit" way of communicating with Immediate Action, in cases of danger and emergencies.

In the application there is a “CTATBOT” function that helps the user while browsing the application. Also, a communication field has been created for reporting technical problems, but also for sending ideas and suggestions of minor and adult users, to improve the application.

SAFE.YOUth was created to be a powerful tool in the hands of children and young people, providing a comprehensive and modern network of services so that users feel and are safe.
