Social media apps have been proven to be equally harmful as smoking. We do not allow smoking in all the building and even then designate specific rooms.
Parent Geenee allows you to block apps in specific rooms ( think.. no social media in your kids bedroom) and buildings ( think schools, temple, cricket ground etc )
Why Our App Requires Accessibility API Permission :
Our app is designed to provide a safe and controlled digital environment for child users by allowing parents to manage and restrict access to certain applications on their child's device. To achieve this, we require permission to use the Android Accessibility API.
Purpose of Accessibility API in Our App:
The Accessibility API is essential for our app to function as intended. It enables the app to:
Block Restricted Apps: Our app prevents access to specific applications that parents have marked as restricted. Without the Accessibility API, we cannot detect or block these apps.
Unblock Apps When Allowed: Parents can modify restrictions in real time, and the app requires this permission to grant access to previously blocked applications when permitted.
Ensure a Safe Digital Experience: The app ensures that child users cannot bypass or disable the app’s restrictions, maintaining a secure and controlled device environment.
How We Use the Accessibility API :
The AccessibilityService runs in the background and monitors app activity to check if a restricted app is being accessed.
When a restricted app is detected, the service automatically blocks its usage.
This process happens locally on the device without collecting or transmitting any personal data.
No Data Collection or Misuse :
We understand the sensitivity of the Accessibility API and strictly adhere to Google’s policies. Our app:
Does NOT collect or share personal data through AccessibilityService.
Does NOT use the permission for any unauthorized access or system modifications.
Does NOT perform actions on behalf of the user beyond blocking/unblocking restricted apps as per parental control settings.
Why This Permission is Critical :
Without granting Accessibility API permission, our app cannot block or unblock any apps for child users. This would render the parental control functionality ineffective, preventing parents from managing their child’s digital experience as intended.
We request users to enable this permission only to ensure that our app functions correctly for its intended purpose: helping parents create a safe and distraction-free environment for their children.
