When they begin clinical training, most medical students do not have a very clear idea of how to prescribe a drug to their patients or what information they should give them. This is usually because the initial pharmacological training has focused more on theory than on practice. Usually the contents of the pharmacology subjects are "drug-centered" and consist of studying the mechanisms of action and their pharmacological properties. But in clinical practice we must proceed backwards, from the diagnosis to the drug. In addition, patients vary in their age, sex, size and sociocultural characteristics, and these factors determine the selection of treatment. Patients also have their own perceptions of what is an appropriate treatment, and should be fully informed partners of the treatment. These issues are not always taught in medical schools, where the number of hours dedicated to therapeutics is low, compared to those dedicated to traditional teaching of pharmacology or pathophysiology and diagnostics. The "Guide to Good Prescription" is a step-by-step guide to the reasoned prescription process of a drug, and contains some illustrative examples. Teach the necessary steps to be able to select the most appropriate drug for each patient, that is, skills that will be necessary throughout the professional activity. Graduate students and doctors can also find in this Guide a source of new ideas and perhaps an incentive for change. This project has designed a computer application (for the web and mobile devices) based on the "Guide to Good Prescription" of the World Health Organization in order to develop in a structured way a personalized vademecum that is useful for Teaching of Clinical Pharmacology and therapeutics, and for future use as doctors. The website and its applications save the activity of the students included in the courses that use the application for their academic evaluation and for the study of prescription patterns (using dissociated data)
