The Spirit of Shadows is a digital narrative adventure game that invites the player to explore emotions, rebuild bonds, and save a community overtaken by a mysterious force. Set on a welcoming island, marked by friendships, encounters, and shared memories, the game presents a sensitive and engaging story where feelings take shape and human relationships become the center of the journey.

It all begins with the emergence of Eli, a dark entity created from accumulated negative emotions. Silently, its presence begins to influence the island's inhabitants, transforming affection into distrust, dialogue into estrangement, and coexistence into conflict. During a slumber party, a game created by the characters themselves awakens the attention of this spirit, triggering the invasion of its minions and spreading shadows throughout the city. As friendships break and the community's balance unravels, only two characters remain immune to Eli's influence and take on the mission of freeing their friends and restoring harmony to the place.

Throughout the adventure, the player traverses different scenarios—streets, houses, squares, and communal spaces—interacting with characters, facing challenges, and solving situations that demand sensitivity, listening, and cooperation. Unlike games centered on combat or competition, The Spirit of Shadows proposes an experience based on care and collaboration. Here, the main tool for transformation is dialogue: conversing, embracing feelings, understanding stories, and rebuilding bonds become the central mechanics of the game.

Each phase presents small emotional conflicts to be resolved, inviting the player to observe, reflect, and act empathetically. Music, social interaction, and narrative choices help unlock paths, rescue characters, and restore light to environments affected by shadows. Progression happens through active participation and the collective construction of solutions, reinforcing the idea that significant changes occur when people listen to and care for one another.

With a welcoming aesthetic, a sensitive soundtrack, and a focus on narratives of friendship, belonging, and solidarity, the game offers an accessible experience for different player profiles, valuing multiple forms of interaction and expression. The result is a lighthearted, reflective, and meaningful adventure that combines entertainment, imagination, and socio-emotional development.

Created in collaboration with students from an inclusive education perspective, *The Spirit of Shadows* is part of the DUA Games Project, developed by the University of Vale do Itajaí, with support from the Financing Agency for Studies and Projects (FINEP). This initiative unites technology, creativity, and education to produce original games that promote participation, belonging, and meaningful learning experiences.

More than overcoming challenges, this is an invitation to feel, dialogue, and transform—because, in this world, the greatest strength is caring for others.
