ControlPoint is a business specialising in asset integrity and has developed a portfolio of technology-led products to facilitate the capture, transfer and storage of different types of data from site (including electrofusion)

The JointAssist app allows for the transfer of electrofusion and buttfusion joint data and works in conjunction with the BlueBox itself; a device that is fitted to a fusion control box. Using Bluetooth connectivity, the electrofusion unit will be paired with the device through the use of the JointAssist app. Operators are guided through the user-friendly process on both the control box display screen and the app.

To provide an accurate picture of the joint installation quality that is being produced, the BlueBox system is closely integrated with the control box, meaning that each weld cycle has to be instigated by the capture of at least one photo.

Through the BlueBox app and the GPRS connection on the device, all data is instantly sent to the JointManager website; a secure and easily accessible online storage facility. Using this integrated, ‘real time’ system allows industry contractors to make well-informed judgements on their joint installations prior to the point that they are buried.
