In this post, I am going to show you how to install CS Location CTRL on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install CS Location CTRL using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "CS Location CTRL" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

How to install CS Location CTRL on Windows PC using NoxPlayer

  1. Download & Install NoxPlayer at: https://www.bignox.com. The installation is easy to carry out.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file to the NoxPlayer interface and drop it to install

This app was created to address some issues I currently have when trying to search for an address in map apps such as Sygic Maps or Nokia Here Maps (low/out of date coverage of my country) plus some extra options.

The overall functionality provided is as follows:

A. From Google Maps app (requires internet access)

Its possible to select a POI or a location in the Google maps app and then get driving directions through the Sygic or Nokia Here app (along with other options, see next paragraph).

In brief, these are the steps:
1. Run the Google Maps app.
2. Locate the POI or location and touch on the icon to get more information about it.
3. Choose 'Send location to others' (if available) or press the Menu button and then select 'Share'.
4. Choose 'CS Location CTRL' from the list.
5. The app will go through 3 steps to get the extra information needed (internet access is required).
6. Once information is gather, the app will display a list of options with the possibility of:
- Send a url in an sms or email, that allows the receiving party to access the location using Google Maps or Sygic Maps or Nokia Here Maps.
- View/save a Google map containing the location (requires internet access).
- View address of location (requires internet access).
- View the location in Sygic maps (requires app).
- Get driving directions for the location in Sygic maps (if available) (requires app).
- View the location in Nokia Here maps (requires app).
- View the location in any supported app installed in the device that supports the generic url.

B. Directly from the app with the functionality as below:

> For current location (requires use of GPS)
- Send a url in an sms or email, that allows the receiving party to access the location using Google Maps or Sygic Maps.
- View/save a Google map image containing the location (requires internet access).
- View address of location (requires internet access).

> Search a location
- Get a list of locations that match some text entered (requires internet access).

(After selecting a location from the list)
- Send a url in an sms or email, that allows the receiving party to access the location using Google Maps or Sygic Maps.
- View/save a Google map containing the location (requires internet access).
- View address of location (requires internet access).
- View the location in Sygic maps (requires app).
- Get driving directions for the location in Sygic maps (if available) (requires app).
- View the location in Nokia Here maps (requires app).
- View the location in any supported app installed in the device that supports the generic url.
