Surah as Sajdah is the 32nd Surah of the Holy Quran with 20 verses, and it was revealed in Makkah.
The first half of the Surh covers some of Islam's doctrinal concepts, including revelation, God, creation of human beings, resurrection and the judgment day. The second half discusses the comparison between those who "fall prostate" before God and those who "turns away" from God's signs. The chapter then mentions the Children of Israel as an example of people who followed God's guidance throughHazrat Musa.
Virtues of Surah as Sajdah:
• Whoever recites this Surah and Surah Fatiha at the beginning of the night would remain in divine protection till the next morning, and whoever recites them both in the morning would remain is divine protection throughout the day. He would also be given many rewards.
• Anyone who recites this Surah every Friday would hold his record of deeds in his right hand and would be the in the group of lovers of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) on the Day of Judgment.
• Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever recite Surah as Sajdah and Surah Mulk between Maghrib and Isha, the reward of this would be as though he had stood awake during the night of LaylatulQadr and prayed."
• Jabir(R.A) narrates that Prophet (p.b.u.h) did not sleep until he recited Surah as Sajdah and Surah Mulk
• Hazrat Khalid ibnMa'dan (RA) said: "Recite the Deliverer, which is Surah Sajdah, for I have heard that a man who had committed many sins used to recite it and nothing else. It spread its wing over him and said, O My Lord, forgive him, for he often used to recite me. So the Lord Most High made it an arbitrator for him and said, Record for him a good deed and raise him a degree in place of every sin."
• Whoever writes Surah as Sajdah on a piece of paper and keeps it on his body as a taawiz, he would remain safe from fever, headaches and joint pains.
