Lantern Days is a quiet daily mood journal. Every evening you light a paper lantern for the day in the colour that fits how it felt — from Glowing to Dark — and, if you like, write a short note. Strung together, the lanterns become a glowing calendar of your months. Keep checking in and your streak grows.

TONIGHT (home)
The home screen opens on one simple question — how does tonight feel? Seven lantern colours sit right there, each with its own emoji, from a bright Glowing lantern to a deep Dark one. Tap one, add a line about your day if you want, and light it. A streak banner shows how many nights you have lit in a row, the past week runs along a strip of lanterns, and two doors at the foot of the screen lead to the rest of the app.

THE STRING (calendar)
The String is the heart of the app: a full month laid out as a string of lanterns, every lit day glowing in its mood's colour with the emoji on it. Flip through the months and watch each one's string light up. Below the calendar, a breakdown shows how the month's lanterns fell, one bar per colour. Tap any day to open or edit it.

THE DAY (per-day detail)
Every day has its own page. A big lantern shows how it felt, with the note beneath it. Step back and forth a day at a time, change the lantern, edit the note, or put the day out entirely. Past days are always editable, so a missed night is easy to light later.

THE GLOW (trends & settings)
The Glow gathers the numbers: your current streak, best streak, total lanterns lit, and your average lantern. A fourteen-day strip shows the recent run at a glance — taller, brighter bars are brighter days, gaps are nights you skipped — and a card names your most common lantern so far. The same screen holds your preferences: haptic feedback, the night-glow or warm-paper palette, and whether the week starts on Monday.

Lantern Days starts with a little recent history seeded in so the string is never dark, and you can clear everything and start fresh at any time. Everything lives only on your device — there is no account, no cloud, no sync, no notifications, and nothing is ever sent anywhere. It does not gamify, nag, or guilt. It simply asks one honest question a day, and keeps the lights.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
All entries are encrypted on your device with AES, using a key stored in the Android Keystore. Nothing ever leaves your phone.

Light one lantern a day.
