Step By Step Guide To Install CacheMaid Demo using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. CacheMaid is a tool for geocachers that runs on Android devices. It will show information about caches and let you navigate to them using the built in GPS and compass. CacheMaid has support for paperless caching and offline maps. True offline maps are supported!

CacheMaid is a Geocaching Live-enabled Application, that is an application that can communicate online with the geocaching.com site to download caches, upload logs etc.

The demo version has some limitations. It cannot import email responses from pocket queries, some menu items are disabled and sometimes an information box is displayed on the screen.

Users should expect an error of "Not Authorized" to be returned by the authorization service indicating invalid credentials if an expired token is used after the fact, and the user will need to re-authorize to continue using the service.
