TVGuard for TV is the parental control app for your Android TV and Google TV. Install it on the TV, pair it with the free TVGuard app on your phone, and it enforces the screen time limits, app locks and bedtime schedules you set — all locally, with no account and no cloud.

This app is the on-TV half of TVGuard. You control everything from your phone; this app applies the rules on the TV.

WHAT IT DOES
• Shows a pairing code so your phone can connect over your home Wi-Fi
• Enforces app locks, full blocks, bedtime windows and daily screen time limits
• Shows a remote-friendly PIN lock screen when a locked app or bedtime is active
• Protects itself (Device Admin) so kids can't trivially remove the rules

PERFECT FOR
• Parents limiting kids' screen time on the TV
• Locking YouTube, games and streaming apps behind a PIN
• Enforcing bedtime and homework time on a shared family TV

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account, no cloud, no data collection
• Your phone talks to this app directly over local Wi-Fi — nothing leaves your home network
• Only the current foreground app name is read, solely to enforce your rules. No screen content, text or personal data is collected, stored or transmitted
• The parent PIN is stored only as a salted hash on this device

PERMISSIONS (and why)
• Accessibility Service — to detect which app is in the foreground and show the lock. This is core to blocking apps
• Usage Access — to measure screen time and enforce daily limits
• Device Admin — so protections can't be removed without the PIN

SETUP
1. Install TVGuard on your phone
2. Open TVGuard for TV and follow the setup checklist to grant the permissions above
3. Scan the code with your phone to pair, then manage everything from your phone

This app has no ads and no purchases — get TVGuard Pro in the phone app.
The PIN pad can now shuffle its numbers, so nobody learns your PIN by watching the remote.

• After three wrong tries, the next attempt has to wait
• Changing the PIN here now asks for the current one first
• Settings stays locked on more TV brands, inner screens included
• Bedtime screens name the schedule that's running
• Pairing shows one QR at a time
