Every mountain climb is a precious memory.
At 22, while waiting to enlist in the military, my mountaineering club friends took me to climb Nanhu Mountain. That was my first trip up the 100 Peaks of Taiwan. The vastness of the valley made me yearn to explore more of Taiwan's high mountains.
In the summer of my 30s, I went to Jiaming Lake with my university club friends. After years of anticipation, I finally got to witness the beauty of Angel's Tears. Every evening after dinner, we chatted about our future dreams while enjoying the mountain breeze. It turns out that being in the mountains makes people romantic.
Now in my forties, I talk with a few university classmates every year about hiking the entire Batongguan trail. But for various reasons, we ended up going to the dam and the Four Peaks of Wuling. I realized that what mountain we climbed wasn't the point; being able to have a drink with my university classmates on the mountain was a precious happiness.
I want to organize these mountain climbing stories and photos from the triangulation points. I think many friends will want to record their mountain climbing memories with words and photos, and I also want to record how many of the 100 Peaks I can climb. Therefore, I developed this app.
"100 Peaks Chronicle" is a mountaineering record-keeping tool designed for Taiwanese mountaineers.
It's not just about recording "which mountains I've climbed," but also about helping you organize every mountain trip, every summit, and every leg of your journey through the 100 Peaks. Besides the 100 Peaks, you can also record intermediate mountains, suburban mountains, and treks. You can create your own mountaineering logs, recording route names, departure and return dates, weather, travel companions, companions staying behind, special notes, and your reflections on the trip. Each log entry can include multiple summits, including the 100 Peaks of Taiwan, and you can also manually enter the names of mountains other than the 100 Peaks to leave a complete record of your climbs.
"100 Peaks Chronicle" automatically organizes your progress across the 100 Peaks, including the total number of peaks completed, the Central Mountain Range, the Snow Mountain Range, the Jade Mountain Range, and the progress of badges for famous mountains such as the Five Peaks, Three Peaks, Ten Steep Peaks, Ten Soaring Peaks, and One Wonder, allowing you to see your climbing mileage at a glance. You can also browse the list of the 100 Peaks and basic information about each peak, including ranking, altitude, mountain range classification, and mountain description. Whether you're planning your next climb of Taiwan's 100 Peaks or reviewing your past treks, this app provides a clear and organized overview.
Main Features:
* **Create Hiking Log:** Record the date, route, weather, travel companions, information left behind, and reflections for each hike.
* **Record Summits:** Each hiking log entry can include multiple summits, supporting both 100 Peaks and non-100 Peaks records.
* **100 Peaks Completion Progress:** Automatically tracks the completion count of all 100 Peaks, allowing you to monitor your journey.
* **Three Major Mountain Range Statistics:** View the completion progress of the Central Mountain Range, Snow Mountain Range, and Jade Mountain Range.
* **Famous Mountain Badges:** Track classic Taiwanese mountains categorized as the Five Peaks, Three Peaks, Ten Slender Peaks, Ten Lofty Peaks, and One Wonder.
* **100 Peaks List:** Browse the ranking, altitude, range, summit status, and description of Taiwan's 100 Peaks.
* **Photo Recording:** Upload photos from your hiking logs, write the stories and feelings behind each photo, and preserve the scenery, teammates, and memories of your hikes.
This app is perfect for:
• Those currently collecting information on Taiwan's 100 Peaks
• Those wanting to organize their mountain climbing records
• Those wanting to record their feelings and photos from each hike
• Those wanting to track their progress on the 100 Peaks, the Three Major Mountain Ranges, and the Famous Mountain Badges
• Those wanting to organize their hiking records from scattered photos and notes
The 100 Peaks Chronicle aims to be your personal hiking log, accompanying you from your first mountain as you gradually accumulate your own hiking stories.
