Tipline shows you, before you walk in, whether a café, bar or restaurant pops up a tip screen when you pay by card or at a self-order kiosk — so checkout is never a surprise.

Tip on your terms.

WHAT'S A "TIP SCREEN"?
When you pay by card or at a kiosk, some places now show a prompt asking you to add a tip — often with pre-set buttons like 20%, 25% or 30% (and sometimes with "No tip" tucked away) before you can finish paying. Tipline maps where that happens.

HOW IT WORKS
- Open the map and see nearby places, colour-coded by what people have reported.
- Green means no tip screen. Amber means there's a tip screen. Grey means there isn't enough info yet.
- Tap a place for the details: which percentages or amounts it tends to show, whether a 0% option is visible, and how confident the data is.
- Paid somewhere? Add what you saw in about 30 seconds. One tap is enough; details are optional.

IT'S NOT ANTI-TIPPING
Tipping for good service is a lovely thing, and entirely up to you. Tipline is about the screen, not the tip — it just helps you know what to expect so you can decide for yourself.

ANONYMOUS BY DESIGN
- No account. No sign-up. No personal profile.
- We don't ask for your name, email or contacts.
- Just open it and use it.

CROWDSOURCED & TRANSPARENT
Every place is summarised from recent notes that people share, with a confidence score. When there isn't much information yet, it's shown faded and clearly marked as such — so you always know how much to trust it.

Available in English and German.
