We’re pleased to introduce you to the Schertler Group - three innovative companies (Schertler SA, SR Technology and Velvet Strings) that manufacture a wide variety of quality audio products. These range from contact microphones for stringed instruments to preamplifiers, acoustic and electric amplification systems, compact loudspeaker systems, guitar tuners and strings for ‘cello and double bass. Renowned for their accuracy in reproducing the authentic sound of acoustic and electric instruments in a variety of situations, Schertler Group products are now a first choice for live performances, broadcast applications and recording sessions worldwide.

Our contact microphones and preamps are manufactured in Mendrisio, Switzerland, using in-house produced components. Acoustic amps are built in the Schertler Group manufacturing facility at Potenza Picena, Italy, developed in collaboration with the Group’s R&D offices in Switzerland and Italy.

About the Schertler Group companies
Swiss company Schertler SA was founded in the early 1980s by bassist Stephan Schertler. It quickly established a worldwide reputation for achieving the highest levels of accuracy in the reproduction of acoustic stringed instrument sound. Research and development has focused on producing high-quality contact microphones and acoustic amplification systems. These include the STAT, BASiK and flagship DYN P48 microphone series and the Classic, Deluxe and JAM ranges of compact amplifiers.

Italian company SR Technology (purchased by Schertler in 2012) is dedicated to the development and production of high-quality compact loudspeaker systems. Italian musicality combined with Swiss precision has formed the basis of the famous "SR Sound”; deep, decisive bass complemented by a soft, crisp mid range and perfectly integrated clear “highs”. The goal for all SR products is to combine transparency and musicality in an affordable product range, for live performance, home listening and installation, which does not compromise on sound quality.

The Velvet Strings brand developed from Stephan Scherter’s own interest in building quality strings for double bass that presented an alternative to standard steel ones. Growing demand for the metal covered, synthetic textile fibre strings led to the production of string sets for cello and double bass, with strings for violin, viola and guitar soon to be available.
