Using the same formulas as NASA, this app calculates the orbital path for each planet. A view of the sky is plotted with the Sun, Moon and planets all situated exactly as they were at the time of your birth as seen from your place of birth. This is your personal astrological birth chart.
From the sky chart, it derives a psychological profile based on study and observation by astrologers during the past 3,000 years, including Nostradamus, Rudhyar and Ptolemy. The analysis looks at the position of each celestial body; Sun in Leo, for example, means that you are a Leo, which carries with it certain personality traits. The analysis then looks at the house orientation of each body; Venus in the Seventh House, for example, indicates 'marriage for Love'.
Each pair of celestial bodies also indicates an angle of separation in the sky. It is notable if two or more planets are in line (conjunction) with each other, or if they are opposed at 180°. But angles of 120° (trine), 90° (square), 60° (sextile) and 30° are also meaningful. All the relevant separation angles from your chart are analyzed.
Each body also has its native position in the sky. The relationship between its native position and its position in the sky chart also tells us about your psyche. For example, the reign of the 4th house in the 4th house means 'strong ties with family'.
The red line drawn across the middle of the sky map is the horizon line, portraying the earth's tilt at the birth moment. At its left you will find your Ascendant. It is thought that the ascendant governs your path and direction in life - that is, to what you aspire.
So, go ahead. Generate your own chart. If your Android device's screen size is too small, email the results to yourself to view and read in a web browser, or to print and hang on your wall. Generate a chart for your loved one to find out how much you really know them (or to find out what you didn't know). Exchange charts with a friend to get their honest opinion of you - you might be enlightened. These self-improvement charts make the perfect birthday gift too.
If you don't know the exact time you were born, call your mother or refer to your birth certificate. But if those are not possible, just put 12:00 PM and ignore analysis on the positioning of the Moon and the celestial houses.
The Aztro app is a work of Love which aims at fostering human understanding.
