Once a year, on the last weekend in June, the landscape between Loschwitz and Pillnitz is transformed into a single large festival area. In five places along the Elbe slope, on a distance of about seven kilometers, on village squares, in parks and villas, on the banks of the Elbe and on the slopes are offered to the 200 different events. Art and Citizens Festival in one, the Elbhangfest offers concerts (from flute to rock), theater and dance events, readings and special offers for children.
In all villages on the Elbhang there are markets for local crafts and various gastronomic offers. Guided tours and lectures allow encounters with the region, their stories are told and their curiosities. In addition, actions of young art present modern contemporary spirit. A big parade opens the weekend. The Elbhangfest 1990/91 originated from fundraisers for the Pillnitz Weinbergkirche and the Loschwitz church by George Bähr.
