Air Force Museum is one of the youngest cultural institutions, organized by the Ministry of Defense. The ceremonial opening of the museum took place 26 August 2011. The most important mission is to promote establishment of historical values ​​associated with the history of the Polish army, in particular with the history and tradition of the air force, anti-aircraft weapons, the popularization of knowledge of Polish military history and the promotion of the Polish Armed Forces.

The museum was founded in 2011 based on the old Hall of Tradition Officers' College of the Air Force. In its structure has a branch - Anti-aircraft Defense Museum in Koszalin, in which from 10 January 2017. You can visit the permanent exhibition Fri. "The history of Polish anti-aircraft weapons."

Appointment of a museum of aviation was a personal initiative of the then Commander of the Air Force, which is supported aviation enthusiasts, local and regional environmental senior Air Force and Air Force soldiers.
