Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) is the fastest growing renewal movement in the Church. National Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (NCCRS) is recognized by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) as a National Catholic Organization for service and promotion of CCR in India by being “a center of unity, communication and cooperation”. It has the mandate of coordinating all Renewal activities in the Church in India.
Intercession is a key pillar for the functioning of the Church and the mission of the CCR. In this regard, a National Intercession Network (NIN) was formed by the National Service Team in August 1995. Subsequently, the Regional/Diocesan Service Teams appointed a member of the Service Team to coordinate intercession in the Diocese/region and thus resulted in the formation of Regional Intercession Networks. Intercession growth retreats were organized annually by NST and coordinators of the regional intercession networks used to come together for a time of prayer and sharing. We had a network of about 10,000 intercessors to which NIN intentions were communicated on a regular basis through the newsletter ‘Madhyastha’ and Charisindia. There is a need to strengthen the networking of NIN.
