Wayang kulit is a traditional Indonesian art that mainly developed in Java. Wayang comes from the word 'Ma Hyang' which means to go to a spiritual spirit, a deity, or God Almighty. Ki Nartosabdo is a legendary music artist and puppeteer from Central Java, Indonesia. Although originally from Central Java, Ki Nartosabdo first appeared as a puppeteer in Jakarta, precisely in the PTIK Building which was broadcast live by RRI on April 28, 1958. The play he gave at that time was Kresna Duta. The first experience of mastering this had made Ki Narto panic on the stage because at that time his real job was the holder of the Ngesti Pandowo group. Ki Narto since he was a teenager had enjoyed famous puppeteers, such as Ki Ngabehi Wignyosoetarno from Sala and Ki Poedjosoemarto from Klaten. He is also diligent in reading various old books. At that time, the Head of RRI Studio, Sukiman, offered Ki Narto to perform, so that the performance at the PTIK was held.
