The Government of Himachal Pradesh, India wanted to do the mass screening of the entire 30+ population for the existence of NCD (Non Communicable Diseases) risk factors. In order to facilitate the process, a digital platform for entering the collected data at the sub-center level has been envisaged. The state has got Android tablets to all the ANM’s (Health Workers) in Himachal Pradesh. The ANM’s will be collecting related information for the Health Card as well as some other program intervention in the state. The application developed will facilitate the exercise by:
Providing supportive supervision and reporting across administrative hierarchy, on the progress made
Estimate the prevalence of the diseases based on administrative geography
Estimate people living with the NCD risk factors
Online access of related information to the general public on their health status using OTP thereby contributing towards raising health consciousness and awareness
Automatic SMS based alert systems for follow-up of people suspected/confirmed with NCD risk factors
Provisioning for both Android based mobile application (online and offline mode) and web access to the application for the related functionaries in the state
Availability of tablets as well as the Health-Card application is expected to equip and facilitate the government for taking evidence based decision making, thereby improving the efficiency of the program.
The application has flexible data structure that allows coverage and data collection of other health indicators in addition to the existing NCD indicators.
