Official application of the exhibition Yolanda Penteado, the lady of the arts of São Paulo

Surrounded by a political, economic and social transition that moves from Vargas nationalism, through the developmentalism of JK and share the first moments of the Military Dictatorship, Yolanda Penteado, Francisco Assis Chateaubriand (Chatô) and Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho (Ciccillo) become great patrons, which are distinguished by the alliance between modern art and international capital.

Together they are responsible for artistic and cultural institutions such as the MAM SP, MASP, the Bienal de São Paulo, the Regional Museums, as well as contributing to the creation of MAC USP. Married to Ciccillo, Yolanda takes part in other projects, such as the TBC and the Vera Cruz Cinematographic Company. All these institutions place the city of São Paulo definitely in the international arena of the arts.

Less responsible for "executive actions" Yolanda is a significant factor in the couple's operating strategy: as "gran dama", it prints the actions the social prestige that corporate businesses need at that time.
