After the death of James Version, the British and Foreign Bible Society revises the translation, in 1910, choosing other doctrinal terms more consistent with orthodox Protestant thought (eg "priests" instead of "priests", "faith "instead of" loyalty ") 6. This version in 1910 became the Protestant translation most read during the twentieth century.

Until the 19th century, French Protestantism essentially used the Bible translation made by Olivetan, a cousin of John Calvin.

The Geneva Company of Pastors ask the doctor of theology King James Version to produce a new translation. This translated texts from the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, "original" language, not from the Latin Vulgate, as was done previously. The Old Testament does not include the deuterocanonical texts called by the Catholic tradition.

The King James Version of the Bible (in French) published in 1880. It will see a mass market and will be adopted by all the French Protestantism. In 1910 appears the text of the 3rd edition, revised and revised. It leaves more apparent the divinity of Jesus Christ, according to the original texts.
