The app was created as part of the complete digitization of Hamburg news by the State and University Library Hamburg Carl von Ossietzky and their preparation for the articles Search by CCS Content Conversion Specialists, Hamburg, in the framework of the EU project Europeana Newspapers. An expert team of historians of the State Library of Hamburg has selected for the app from the wealth of newspaper and visual material time those documents are the political and local hamburger content exemplary of the media coverage of the 1st World War. A chronicle with short introductory texts and references helps in the classification of the material.
