Step By Step Guide To Install Time Markers for Audacity using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen

This application allows to create "time marker files" to import in Audacity.

This is useful when recording field work or interviews in one big file that you need to cut up afterwards.
Simply start this app at the same time you start the recording, add markers and hit "Stop - Save" to save your markers. Then you can import the markers file inside Audacity along with your recording.

Though this application was only tested with Audacity (hence its name), the markers files are quite simple and they might also be imported in different softwares, but we provide no warranty. If you would like to be using such a feature with another software, please send in your request, we'll see what can be done :-)
