The Congress of Colombia, representing the Legislative Branch of the Colombian state, and is made up of the Senate (upper house with 102 senators elected by national subscription) and the House of Representatives (lower house with 166 Departmental Representatives subscription).
REGULATION OF COLOMBIAN CONGRESS
This statute contains regulations on meetings and operation of the Senate, the House of Representatives and the Congress as a whole.
In the interpretation and application of the provisions of this Regulation, the following principles shall apply:
1. Speed of procedures. Saved the formal correctness of procedures, rules of Regulation should serve to effectively promote the development of the work of every kind of Congress.
