KH Abdul Latif sincerely hope his son would later become the leader of the people, just as his ancestors. Mbah a small Kholil comes from a family of scholars. His father, KH Abdul Latif, has blood ties with Sunan Gunung Jati. Father Abdul Latif was Kiai Hamim, son of Kiai Abdul Karim.
The latter's son Muharram bin Kiai Kiai Kiai Asror Karomah bin Abdullah bin Sayyid Sulaiman. Sayyid Sulaiman grandson of Sunan Gunung Jati. So no one if KH. Abdul Latif crave his son could one day follow in the footsteps of Sunan Gunung Jati, because there are still countless offspring.
Mbah Kholil educated very strictly by her father. Mbah Kholil small indeed showed special talent, his thirst for knowledge, especially science Fiqh and nahwu. In fact, he was familiar with both Nazham Alfiya (thousand temple of science Nahwu) since a young age. To meet the expectations and thirst for knowledge about the science of Fiqh and others, so parents of small Kholil Mbah sent him to various schools to gain knowledge.
