One embodiment uses a mobile application to access the research/study application. The study administrator sets up and customises features for a particular study, the participant provides information about use/actions, provides text feedback/question answers, and provides photographs of the treatment region. Use of the application can substitute for office visit under some circumstances, e.g., by use of photos, and/or communication of vital data, to show progress online versus in person, and also via dialog if applicable between participant and practitioner, and/or study sponsor, regarding questions that may not require in-person attention form the administrator practitioner, and/or study sponsor.
