Human Body Systems for Elementary School App
This lesson will teach you about some of the important parts that make up your body. You will learn where they are found and what they are used for. You will also get the chance to make up some dance moves to help you remember the body parts.
The Human Body Parts for kids
The human body is pretty amazing. It is made up of many parts that work together to make one important organism that can live, breathe, eat, jump, dance and so much more--you! Let's explore some of these body parts now. To make it a little more fun and help you remember them, try to make up your own dance move for each body part you learn about.
The Head
There are many important body parts located on and in your head:
Hair actually covers almost every part of your body, not just your head. It helps regulate body temperature and protect your skin from the sun. Hair comes in many different colors.
Eyes are important because they help you see the world around you. They give you depth perception so that you do not run into things. Eyes also have some other important parts, like eyelids and eyelashes. These protect your eyes by keeping out dust and dirt.
Ears help you hear the world around you. They also help you to keep your balance.
Your nose helps you smell the world around you, and it also helps you breathe. It can help you smell the wonderful smells that come from your family kitchen, or it can let you know when your little brother or cousin needs a diaper change. It can also warn you of danger signs, like smoke from a fire or a gas leak.
Your mouth works with your nose to help you taste and breathe. Your tongue lets you taste many different things, like bitterness, saltiness or sweetness. Your lips and teeth also help you when you are eating and drinking.
Upper Body
Your neck helps your head to turn, and it connects your head to your shoulders. Your shoulders then connect to your two arms. Your arms help you reach for things and give your family hugs. At the end of your arms are your two hands. These hands and the ten fingers that are attached help you pick things up, write and eat.
Your chest and abdomen contain and protect many different organs. Most importantly, your chest protects your heart, which keeps you alive by pumping blood. It also protects your lungs. They provide the oxygen needed to pump the blood from your heart. Your ribs are the bones in your chest.
