The First Contact App contains movie clips and audio files that follow and elaborate on the topics from the student book, but the components can also function independently of each other. The app contains 10 short animation films, one for each theme in the subject. The films show dialogue between young people in everyday situations. The youth have different ethnic backgrounds and have clear and correct English pronunciation. The films are important for activating the students' prerequisites while operating modeling.

The texts from the book are read and you can choose to hear them while following the written text. In addition, there are pure listening tasks, with audio files without written text. In the app, there are also different types of tasks for the topics, different from those in the student book. It is also possible to record your own voice while reading.
