This project is an innovative way to protect the environment by promoting environmental awareness with the use of technology.

Why SmarterGarden?

As water usage increases over the recommended amount to maintain stability, our society has look towards sustainability engineering as a solution. Due to the convenience of supermarkets, many people tend to buy their produce rather than attempting to grow their own at home.

We believe having your own garden is the healthiest and most environmental-friendly approach. However, those who have their own garden may not know how to properly grow it. They might be making common mistakes like forgetting to water them or over-watering them.

The Use of Sensors

The project emphasizes on the use of technology. Three sensors (temperature, humidity, moisture) aid garden-growers to monitor and take care of their gardens better. The data is recorded in a database and you can view it anytime you want. Graphical data is also available to keep track of the statistics of your plants.

Check On Your Garden

- Whenever a plant falls below the desire range, an email notification alert is sent to let you know that your plants need attention.

- Another feature that allows you to monitor your garden wherever you are is the ability to take pictures of your plants remotely and receive them on your smartphone.
