Mr. Courville was a scientist and teacher at the Auburn Middle School in the 1970’s. He and his students created the Arboretum and loved it with a passion because he appreciated nature and also trees. He passed away suddenly doing a research experiment in the ocean. We are working to create an accurate Arboretum in our app by labeling each tree carefully according to the original map drawn by students. When we decided to make an app about the Arboretum, we wanted it to be really fun so that kids would want to play it. The opening page as soon as you get into it brings you to the real life Arboretum but you have to fling certain objects like Asian Long Horned Beetles into the spider’s web.
