In recent months the word "vaccine" has become commonplace in newspapers and day-to-day conversations. Society's longing for vaccines to contain new infections, lines to protect themselves from the threat of distant infections, and the diseases that haunt us again for lack of immunization are some of the reasons for this reborn public interest in the subject. The theme of the twentieth Annual Scientific Meeting of the Butantan Institute could not be more timely.

The course of the vaccines, from their discovery to their delivery to the community, will be represented in the sessions of our Meeting with prestigious scientists from various areas of the Butantan Institute, Brazil and abroad. In programming we will have more time for the interaction between participants and speakers.

We make a special invitation to the students of our Institute to participate actively in the Young Scientist Award, which this year will have two new categories (Junior and Postdoctoral), as well as the Masters and PhD categories.

With winds for or against we insist on gathering and sharing knowledge, come join our twentieth celebration of science at the Butantan Institute!

During the Scientific Meeting, the valorization of science will be debated at various scales and its application will be addressed in examples of the realization of scientific research in products or solutions.
