Realistic planning is what makes this app different. In this case, the story does not start and end at the app. The Facility Management App is honestly just a handheld extension, the actual backend is a complete browser based software with immense capabilities.
Generally with the advent of App culture, individual developers, mostly newbies are creating more and more new apps each day in pursuit to establish and prove themselves. Very few apps that are currently available on the play store are actually made for the purpose, well thought by veterans with a proper exposure and experience in the field for which they are creating the app. Instead of being a real extension to the process management, most apps are just ideas, not even a good idea, "this is what came into my mind" types.
The biggest lack or ignorance with the currently available apps is that the setup is also on the app. Too much of facilitation and mobility, does not attract mature and consistent participation. Like if we make an app where a teacher can teach on the move from his app...will he be a genuine teacher with genuine concerns and requirement?
Someone wants to manage a facility, which was hitherto a mammoth task and lot of paper work and procedures, now an app comes offering everything at a flick, so that he doesnt even have to sit on his PC and can manage all the show from a coffee shop?- Is this approach realistic? Such aps are good for testing and tasting...not for working. Is it possible, the person who has to manage a whole facility, would be doing it all on a small screen, do we assume the task to be so limited and less time consuming, that he will not find himself uncomfortable on small screens and too much scrolling for everything? Will he not need printers, spread sheets, reporting?
So this App is a genuine scalable software solution, which works good both with and without the app, taking in care the data warehousing needs of a facility manager.
