Johann Sebastian Bach Biography

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 – 1750) was a German composer born into a musical family. His works belong to the music of Baroque period and he is now recognized as one of the greatest classical composers of all times. Taught the violin and harpsichord by his father and clavichord by his brother, both of whom were classical musicians, Bach's skills as an organist only grew. Throughout his life, Bach worked as a director of music in several places and was a Royal Court Composer to Augustus III. He died shortly after his health and vision declined at the age of 65.

During his music career, Bach created many classical music pieces such as cantatas, organ and other keyboard works. He produced many chorals and sacred songs, but Brandenburg concertos still remain one of his most famous works. Bach music is played all over the world and despite the lack of interest in his music shortly after his death, he proudly takes place among famous classical composers all over the globe.
