Surah ad Dhukan is the 44th Surah of the Holy Quran and has 59 verses.

Surah Dhukan is a surah of great importance which can be seen by a hadith of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) – "Whoever recites Surah Dhukan is any night, 70,000 angels will continue to supplicate for his forgiveness until the morning". According to another hadith, "Whoever recites Surah Dhukan during the night before Friday, i.e. Thursday night, forgiveness will be granted for him".
This Surah has many benefits:
1. If recited on Thursday nights, all sins are forgiven and houses are built for the reciter in Jannah.
2. The reward for reciting each letter of this surah is equal to that of freeing a thousand slaves for seeking the pleasure of Allah (s.w.t.).
3. Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) said that whoever recites surah ad-Dukhan in his farz(compulsory prayers) will be protected from the torment of the Day of Judgement and will easily be able to give his accounts. His book of deeds will also be given to him in his right hand and he will be given a place in Jannat.
4. If kept in one’s possession, this surah acts as a protection from the plots of Shaitan and evil deeds.
5. If kept under one’s pillow before sleeping at night, there will be no distress from nightmares and one will always get good dreams.
6. Keeping this surah in a place of business will make it flourish and prosper by the will of Allah.
7. Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (A.S) has said that keeping this surah as anamulet ensures protection from the authorities and makes people fond of the person who wears it.
8. Drinking water after blowing this Surah into it is a cure for all ailments related to the stomach.
9. The same Hadith is reported by Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A) that Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) said, “Whoever shall recite Surah Dukhan on the eve of Friday, he is forgiven in the morning.”
