Version Information
The Reina-Valera review has been the text most used by the Hispanic-American evangelical church during several gererations. Their language is part of the speech of the Christian Christians, who have memorized phrases, verses and entire passages, in which they always find comfort and divine inspiration.
In 1960 the American Bible Society published this review of the Bible, after hard work by an excellent team of scholars, who adapted the old text to the spelling of the time, improved its grammatical construction and added clarity to words and tickets.
The Reina-Valera 1960 has been the basic text most used by the evangelical Spanish-speaking church. It is the most beloved translation of Spanish-speaking Christians because it retains the traditional style of the Spanish language.
After almost 200 years of ongoing ministry, American Bible Society invites people to experience the life-changing message of the Bible. Offering an increasing range of innovative ministries to address core life questions and struggles, the Bible Society partners with Christian churches and national Bible societies to share God’s Word both in the United States and around the globe.

The Reina-Valera, also called the Casiodoro de Reina Bible or the Bear's Bible, is one of the first translations of the Bible into Spanish. The work was made from the translation of the original texts in Hebrew and Greek and was published in Basel, Switzerland, on September 28, 1569.1 2 Its translator was Casiodoro de Reina, a Spanish religious converted to Protestantism.2 He receives the nickname of Reina-Valera for having made Cipriano de Valera her first revision in 1602.2
The Reina-Valera was widely disseminated during the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. Today, the Reina-Valera (with several revisions over the years) is one of the most used Spanish bibles by much of the Christian churches derived from the Protestant Reformation (including the evangelical churches), as well as by others Christian faith groups, such as the Seventh-day Adventist Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Ministerial Church, the International Gideons and other non-denominational Christians.
