Welcome to the Straind!

In Battle Poker, you take a standard 52 card deck and customize it with attacks, defenses, and healing spells modifiers as you guide a group of adventurers to patrol the areas surrounding the Frontier Outpost, combating various nasties that inhibit the area by playing poker hands. Like most RPG, defeating enemies will provide experience for the adventurers and chances at potential upgrades to your cards in the deck, along with new modifiers can be used to customize your cards that can increase the potency of the cards.

Features:
● No waiting. No in-app purchases. Just start and play.
● Each enemy type uses a different AI to provide different degrees of difficulty.
● Characters gain better card and modifier rewards as they level up.
● Customizable standard 52 card deck.
● Upgrade modifiers to convert weaker modifiers into stronger ones.
● A smart-alecky Huskie Terrier named Laika to help you gauge the strength of the enemy's hand!

● Game Information and Tips ●
Each card has two sections. The top half represent effects that occur if you win a hand, while the bottom half represents effects that occur if you lose a hand. Sometimes, it is advantageous to purposely lose a hand by stacking up defensive effects that can nullify the enemy's attack.

Each adventurer is represented by one of the suit of a card deck, and some have additional powers!
♠ Spade (Arcturus, the arcane accursed) ♠
The most balanced and calm of the group. Cards in his suit tends to contain both attack and defense slots for modifiers. Any of his cards are good for any situation.

♥ Heart (MoloJovia, the fire accursed) ♥
The healer of the group. While she much prefer to blow things up with her fire magic, she knows that every group needs the warmth of healing. Cards in her suit tends to have slots for healing spells, but as her power grows, it's not uncommon for her to join in on the offensive with both healing and attacks!
◇ MULTI-HEAL: Whenever MoloJovia heals herself and heals more than she needed, the extra healing will cascade to the rest of her allies.

♣ Club (Hetzer, the dragon accursed) ♣
The wrecking force of the group. All of his cards contain attack slots, and even more attack slots as his powers grow! A flush in this suit is almost guaranteed to be a devastating attack.

◆ Diamond (Jeangel, the angel accursed) ◆
The guardian of the group. While Jeangel isn't as good at healing as MoloJovia, she is capable of triggering dual heal to heal her allies as well as being able to defend all of her allies with her angel guard. When your hand is weak, a viable strategy is to purposely lose with as many diamond defense cards as possible to render enemy attacks ineffective via the angel guard.
◇ ANGEL GUARD: Whenever Jeangel uses defense cards, a portion of the defense is added to the defense of all other allies.
◇ DUAL-HEAL: Any self healing that heals above her needs will also heal a random ally.

Extra unused modifiers can be amassed and forged together to take them up to the next power level. Do not worry if you have too many modifiers - just forge them to a higher power!

The harder the enemy, the more valuable card and modifiers will be dropped as rewards. This is more noticeable at higher levels. Characters gain more experience in these fights too because they would have a much tougher workout.

Submitting your hand before Laika has enough cards to read the enemy's hand will provided bonus experience for your characters on that hand. However, submitting after Laika reads the enemy's entire hand will cause a minor experience penalty for that hand - but sometimes this is worth it to adjust the hand to save up cards for later.

The entire deck reshuffles after 9 hands. Don't save cards for too long just to lose them on a reshuffle!

If you are having difficulty in defeating the harder enemies, go after the weaker enemies to gain better cards and modifiers.
