BlueCineSystems smartAPU™ is an Advanced HotSwap Power Supply for powering professional motion imaging cameras like ARRI Alexa Mini or RED Epic Dragon as well as their accessories, uninterruptible even during battery change.
If the camera battery's charging level declines the smartAPU™ will give optical alerts by six super bright daylight viewable LEDs as well as by a common wireless standards connection in three different warning levels.

Using this tiny Android App the battery status data can be received with any wireless enabled Android smart phone.
It will give notifications for an impending battery change in three different vibration intervals so that the battery can be swapped without rush.
In addition the app displays the present voltage of the connected batteries as well as the over all power draw of the camera and its accessories.
The voltage display as well as the battery notification state are also displayed on the lock screen resp. in the status bar if the app is running in the background.
This app is very useful in cases where the warning LEDs of the smartAPU™ itself are not fully visible e.g. because the camera has been set up for a crane shot, is rigged to a speed car or covered by a rain cover.
As a goodie the app makes it possible to adjust the brightness of the notification LEDs of the smartAPU™ down to Off to avoid trouble with reflections e. g. in a glass facade in the background of the scene.

Privacy Notice:
If the app has established a Bluetooth connection to your smartAPU™ device a check box will appear on the lower main screen within the app, called "Send Battery Status Data".
This is checked by default causing the app to transmit some few fully anonymized status data like currently supplied camera battery voltage, power draw and notification state to our server. The feature has been optimized for very low bandwidth consumption, no personal data will be sent and the transmission will be made over an encrypted connection.
This option will help us to further optimize the power management and notification behaviour of the smartAPU™.
