The App allows you to finish boats in a sailing club race.

You will need a wireless connection to initially download the details of the races and boats. After this initial download the app no longer needs a wireless connection and can be run from the tablet on the finishing boat. When the tablet has a wireless connection it will update the finishing times back to the web site. A backend system can then be run to produce and publish the series results to the club’s web site.

Quick start:

Make sure you have a wireless connection.

Open App.

Connect to Web site (click “Connect to test site”, this will connect you to our test site)

Click “Get today’s data” to download all the latest race details.

Change to the “Started List’ Tab. Any sail button that is red hasn’t started, all the green sails have been started. Note: a boat will not appear on the finishing tab until it has been started.

Now change to the “Finishing” Tab, all the boats you have “started” will now be shown. If the button is red they have not been finished (green indicates they have been finished). Just click the sail number button as a boat finishes. Clicking a green but allows you to add notes, mark them as a did not finish or disqualified etc… You can also change them back to unfinished if the button was pressed accidently. There is a button to list all the results so far and another to finish any unknown boats (you will need to add details in the notes to help identify the boat later in the day).

Test site is currently not available
The test system website is at http://notavailable.com where you can set up races and register people to race.
